Open toolWhat every tool includes
The tools differ in what they accept and what they hand back. Everything below is the same whichever one you open.
- Speech recognition
- Whisper large-v3-turbo, transcribing 100+ spoken languages. What you get back tracks the recording: clear speech comes out clean, noise and crosstalk do not.
- Export formats
- TXT for reading, SRT for video editors, and WebVTT for web players. Timestamps are preserved in all three.
- Translation
- Any finished transcript can be translated into 107 target languages, with the original timings kept intact.
- Editing before export
- The transcript is editable in the browser, so names, jargon and punctuation can be corrected before you download anything.
Every tool draws on the same credit balance — you pay by the video minute, rounded up, and nothing is charged for a job that fails. Current rates on Pricing
Choosing a transcription tool
What differs between the tools, and what is the same whichever one you open.
- Which transcription tool should I use?
- Start from what you have. The platform tools take a public link from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter (X), Facebook or Spotify. The Video to Text tools are organised by what is in your hand instead — an MP3, an MP4, a recording you make on the spot — and all three input modes work on every one of them. If you already have a finished transcript and need it in another language, use one of the three translators.
- What is the difference between the transcript, subtitle and caption translators?
- The transcript translator returns readable translated text for reading and repurposing. The subtitle translator keeps the original timecodes and exports SRT or WebVTT for video editors. The caption translator targets web players and social posts, where WebVTT and plain text are what you need.
- Do I need a different tool for Shorts, Reels or Live recordings?
- No. Each platform tool accepts that platform's short-form and long-form URLs — YouTube videos, Shorts and youtu.be links, Instagram Reels and video posts, Facebook videos, Reels and Live recordings.
- Do all the tools share one credit balance?
- Yes. Every tool draws on the same balance, charged by the video minute and rounded up. Nothing is charged for a job that fails.
- Which formats can I export from any of the tools?
- TXT for reading, SRT for video editors, and WebVTT for web players. Timestamps are preserved in all three, and the transcript stays editable in the browser before you download anything.
- Do I need to install an app or extension?
- No. Every tool runs in the browser: add your video or audio, review the transcript, export the file. There is nothing to install.
